Positive Life Concepts is looking to recruit an experienced Installer/Service Lead Hand immediately. Our client are leaders when it comes to the installation, service and maintenance all types of signs including: pylons, message centers, rotators, neon, channel letters, fascia signs, vinyl lettering, awnings, and canopies.
Our candidate must be a team player who is safety conscious with a great attitude and a jack of all trades who aims for that "wow" customer service experience for their clients. It is essential that they be mechanically inclined, a strong problem solver and not have a fear of heights. As the Lead Sign Installation Technician, you will be eager not only to learn and be coached but be inspired to teach and coach other sign installation technicians.
Ø Work alongside the Project Co-ordinator and team to discuss projects, concerns and instruct technician if special materials or equipment is required for the day
Ø Manage all safety documentation and reporting (JSA’s)
Ø Complete daily drivers log, vehicle safety checks and inspections
Ø Ensure that trucks are loaded correctly and securely at the start of the day and that they are restocked and cleaned at the end of the day
Ø Warmly greet customer and inform them of the approximate time you will be on site
Ø Ensure that the site is set up safely and look for any potential hazards and people
Ø Follow up and perform quality assurance program coordination with the client upon project completion
Ø Make note of any deficiencies on the paperwork and inform customer
Ø Obtain the customer sign off and take the required photographs, fill out work order
Ø Ensure that the site is cleaner than when you arrived
Ø Return all completed paperwork, receipts and camera into the office
Ø Effectively and efficiently install all types of signage
Ø Exposure to all kinds of weather, including heat and cold.
Ø Perform duties that require manual dexterity to use both hand and power tools such as impact wrenches, including basic tools like a wrench, screwdriver, socket set and hammer
Ø Job sites will be site and safety specific and will include commercial locations and operating equipment around vehicles and/or people and requires safety awareness
Ø Will involve the use hands, arms, back and shoulders in handling, installing, positioning, and moving items, and manipulating other objects
Ø Involves prolonged standing, bending, kneeling or sitting position for long periods of time and heavy lifting
Ø Valid Class 5 License
Ø Must possess a clean Drivers Abstract and Criminal Record Check
Ø Mechanically inclined with good working knowledge of both power and hand tools
Ø Demonstrate strong ability to problem solve and find solutions
Ø Strong customer service skills
Ø Must have steel toe boots, other PPE is required such as hard hat, safety vest, eye protection but can be provided, along with own tools
Ø Experience with a picker or bucket truck considered an asset
Ø SSIT certification is considered an asset
Ø Air Brakes is considered an asset
Ø Understanding of Hydraulics considered an asset
Ø Tickets/Certification such as First Aid and CPR/AED, Construction Safety, Elevated Work Platform are all considered assets
Ø Experience driving Boom truck and/or Certificate is considered an asset
Our client offers a competitive wage and will commensurate with previous experience. This is a permanent full-time position offering both overtime and benefits. Priority will be given to those with experience; however, they are willing to train as well for the right attitude and commitment. Schedule will be Monday to Friday primarily, but will occasionally include weekends, evening/night and/or travel outside of the Edmonton Area if required.
