Department Overview

The Data, Analytics and Reporting Enablement (DARE) team is a diverse group of specialists who balance business acumen, technology savvy and strong relationship management skills to enable analytics and reporting teams across the enterprise. A key focus for the DARE team is partnering with our IT teams and business segment user groups to define, create and drive enterprise-wide adoption of the new Enterprise Data, Analytics and Reporting (ED&A) ecosystem.

The DARE team is comprised of three key pillars with a universal mandate to collaborate, enable and evolve:
Application Business Management: Management of the ED&A ecosystem components by providing oversight and leadership, defining capability requirements, supporting the user community, and maintaining the application/platform roadmap 
Deployment Support: Providing the necessary support for projects delivering new data and/or new application/platform capabilities and services 
Data Warehouse Ownership: Responsible for enterprise-owned data warehouses and data repositories, partnering with technology teams to ensure these data assets continue to be maintained, supported and perform as required 

Job Description

The successful candidate for this role will have the responsibility as Business Owner of the Standard Hadoop Analytics and Reporting Environment (SHARE). Responsibilities will include:

  • oversight of all aspects of the management of SHARE including change management approvals, business requirement definition, and stakeholder communications
  • liaison with technology partners that support, develop and maintain the SHARE applications
  • providing information and guidance to business and technical teams on how to best leverage the tools, capabilities and data assets
  • providing input and feedback to the SHARE development team on SHARE common process designs

The role will require the definition of standards and procedures related to operational aspects of maintaining and supporting a data asset. The Business Management Specialist is empowered to make decisions regarding the design, support and maintenance of our data assets to keep them effective in enabling analytics and reporting across the evolving enterprise.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Development of platform management strategies and roadmaps
  • Continuing contribution to the Target Operating Model for the ID&A ecosystem
  • Input on prioritization of project activities to maximize delivery based on business value
  • Establish and oversee SLA’s and remediate issues to ensure the managed assets continue to meet business needs
  • Guidance to SHARE tenant space ownership teams
  • Eliciting and receiving SHARE tenant space owner feedback on platform improvements or new capabilities

Leverage experience both as a savvy business user and technologist to critically evaluate project solutions to ensure the ecosystem will enable business solutions and users

Effectively build and leverage relationships with:

  • IT support teams
  • Development teams and architecture
  • SHARE tenant space owners
  • Our ecosystem user community
  • Privacy, TRMIS, OCDO and other internal oversight teams
  • Data Stewards
  • Source system data owners

Communicate effectively across a broad spectrum of stakeholders from across all divisions and levels of the organization.

Champion initiatives to improve data assets or applications, performance and user experience

Provide input into annual budget maintenance and future fiscal year planning


  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Data warehouse management experience using a mixture of data management software tools or environments
  • Strong relationship management skills – ability to build relationships and work collaboratively to identify solutions and resolve problems
  • Excellent communication skills – Ability to communicate concepts clearly to both business and technology teams
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving business needs and technical capabilities in a timely manner
  • Able to work with different lines of business and cross functional teams (all levels)
  • A strategic and analytical thinker who can translate their vision into an actionable plan
  • A team player who shares their knowledge and supports the team’s overall success
  • Excellent and effective time management – ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment, multi-task and work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodology would be beneficial
  • Experience with Financial Services Data Model (FSDM), SQL, Hadoop, Hadoop query tools, data
