Job Description

As a Loss Prevention Officer, you will spend your days observing customers and blending in at store locations. Using your knowledge and expertise, you will identify situations of theft, fraud and mischief and take the appropriate actions to control the situations and apprehend suspects. You will also be responsible for following company policies to ensure situations are handled safely and correctly including contacting the proper authorities and completing the appropriate paperwork to proceed both criminally and civilly. You will gain first-hand experience in a security field, develop your confidence to handle a variety of situations, and have an excellent opportunity to advance your career within the Save On Foods Resource Protection Department.

Expectations:

  • Comprehensive training program - 80-100 hours of training.
  • 24-32 hours per week with the potential for 40 hours, based on performance.

Requirements:

  • Prior loss prevention experience is an asset.
  • Valid BC Security Worker's License will be required upon start of position (fees as a result of security license requirements will be reimbursed upon start of employment).
  • Strong work ethic, morals and highest level of integrity.
  • Quick decision making skills.
  • Strong ability to problem solve.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong physical ability to move quickly and crouch. Must be able to walk continuously for hours at a time.
