As the Emergency Restoration Technician, there will be extensive work in the restoration structures affected by disaster. This position requires you to work as part of a team, extended hours in difficult situations where physical labour is required. We are seeking an individual with a strong work ethic, who is willing to be trained, and is motivated to do things correctly and effectively.   Typical duties include, but are not limited to:   Perform controlled demolition of affected building materials (drywall, plaster, ceilings, carpet and woodworking). Willing to work within hazardous conditions such as mould, asbestos and fire. Be able to engage in physical activities, such as confined spaces and working at heights. Maintain a clean and safe work site, ensures that COR policies and procedures are followed. Support and participate in continuous improvement of skills and educational training. Updates all parties involved relative to work progress: photos, e-mail correspondence etc. Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the project. Additional duties as required.   Requirements:   Flexibility – shift starts 7:30 am to 4:00 pm weekdays and participate on an on call rotation. Areas of work include within and outside of the city limits, possibility of overnights out of town. Must have a valid Manitoba drivers’ license and able to provide security clearance and child abuse registry (required). IICRC certifications, restoration or construction experience is an asset but not mandatory. Must be physically fit, lift equipment and materials (drywall, plywood, etc.). Must supply basic hand and power tools. Positive and professional attitude. This involves managing site projects from start to finish, documenting job progress and keeping relationships within the communities where you are stationed. We are seeking an individual with strong leadership skills who can run crews of workers and provide training and guidance when required.   Typical duties include, but are not limited to:   Manages and is responsible for all aspects of the construction project: Building construction / renovation (framing, insulation, drywall, paint, trim work, finishing) as well as knowledge and experience with electrical, mechanical and plumbing. Maintaining a clean and safe work site, ensures that COR policies and procedures are followed by all employees and hired sub-contractors. Checking and ensuring job materials, tools, and equipment required are on site. Effectively managing the client relationship through positive communication, presentation and work ethic.
