Position Summary This position is responsible for ensuring that all equipment including molds, extruder head, programmer and support (peripheral) equipment and material are set-up and maintained during the course of the shift and performing to specifications to ensure the right quantity and quality of production. This position is the back-up for the Production Supervisor role. Duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following: Ensure a safe working environment at all times. Ensure that your behaviours contribute to effective working relationships on the team. Follow all procedures and work instructions in accordance with our Quality System. Prepare job carts, clean tooling and equipment, and maintain inventory and storage of tooling and equipment. Perform basic maintenance of molds, neck changes, and report any necessary modification or supplies required. Perform requested mold and head preparations as scheduled. Perform requested production changeovers as scheduled. Set-up and/or maintain all peripheral equipment to perform to specifications. Make any necessary adjustments on the machine to prevent the bottles from falling out of specifications. Record all adjustments and down-time for start and end of the adjustment or down-time. Monitor and assign gaylords, Supersacks, regrind and/or boxes of material including colourant and set-up to specification, verify tags and lot numbers and process through Syteline. Qualifications Effective communication skills both written and oral, to deal with all levels of personnel. Organization skills. Must have suitable mechanical aptitude. Previous experience with machine set-up and adjustments will be an asset. Forklift certification. First Aid certification. Performance Measures The following indicators will be used to measure the Blowmolder’s performance in his/her position: Efficiency = Expected production / Actual production Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety awareness and practices, including proper use of required equipment. Team behaviours Housekeeping (Tools, tool cart, working area around machine) Syteline processing – accuracy and timely Attendance = Number of Incidents / Number of working days Working Conditions Swipe card is used for starting and ending shift or if leaving the premises for any reason, including breaks. Regular hours of work are 8.5 hours paid per shift Monday to Friday. Mandatory attendance at pre-shift meeting every scheduled shift. Some weekend shifts are scheduled to address customer needs in peak periods. There is a half-hour unpaid meal-break after completing 4 hours of a full shift. There are two paid breaks after completing first two hours – 15 min and two hours after meal break – 15 min. Overtime is paid after 44 hours each week in a bi-weekly pay period.
