Water Treatment & Recovery Supervisor Portage la Prairie, MB Simplot Canada’s Portage la Prairie facility is one of five plants within the processed potatoes sector of the Food Group Division and they are growing, literally! Simplot is undergoing a major expansion of its Portage Processing Plant and are seeking a Water Treatment & Recovery Supervisor to add to their team. The Water Treatment & Recovery Supervisor manages people, projects, and programs for the Water Treatment, Recovery, and Land Application facility. The incumbent is responsible for implementing the organization’s environmental compliance strategies, policies, procedures, and systems to maintain and enhance environmental performance of the company. What your responsibilities will be: Assisting operating management in the installation and maintenance of environmental compliance measures required under Federal, Provincial, and local regulations. Working closely with farming operations to insure land application of treated waste water is compliant. Monitoring cost control measure for environmental compliance. Managing compliance projects at operating sites. Keeping updated information on new developments in regulatory changes in environmental sciences function at the plant. Regularly interacting with agencies in assuring environmental compliance at the plant and project level. Communicating effectively with Plant Management regarding all waste treatment and water recovery activities as it pertains to regulatory compliance, employee safety and support of the manufacturing operation. Accountable for the day to day operations of the waste water treatment and recovery facility, to include the hiring, training, safety and supervising of waste treatment plant operators. In order to be considered, you’ll need: Bachelor’s Degree from 4 year college or university in Environment Studies with 2+ years related experience. Level 4 Certified Wastewater Operator. Previous experience supervising in a large complex plant environment. Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills required. Results-oriented, team player with excellent supervisory and communication skills.
