Reporting to the Director of Information Security & Operations, the Network Architect is responsible for providing corporate support and technical leadership. You will be part of our highly skilled technical operations team. Duties and Responsibilities Secure network/system design, configuration, and implementation, capacity planning, datacenter operations and solution proposals in support of our company’s ISMS (Information Security Management System) Manage and support all corporate infrastructure: Fortigate and Cisco switching, iSCSI, Virtual hypervisors, and wireless AP’s Collaborate with other IT and operational staff to ensure infrastructure integrity, information security priorities, and ongoing performance metrics Manage PRTG monitoring tools and alerting to ensure optimal uptime and performance Consistently review syslog events, timely and exhaustive health checks, and process audits to ensure the IT environment is operating as intended Identify, triage and resolve technical issues and determine root causes Provide technical input into Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans for high availability datacenter services Research and recommend improvements to the organization’s hardware, software, applications, and infrastructure, with business justification proposals Participate in third-party vendor relationships, SLA’s, and contract negotiations Develop and maintain expertise through professional development opportunities and personal studies off-hours Mandatory availability as an on-call resource evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays Qualifications University degree/Technical diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or an acceptable combination of education and experience Network experience in an enterprise environment with progressively increasing responsibilities At least one of Microsoft MCSE, VMWare VCP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent work experience Private Cloud, AWS SysOps experience, and Azure environment are assets Intermediate knowledge of VLAN, OSFP, BGP, VoIP, SSL, WPA2-PSK, RADIUS, LDAP, IDS/IPS, VPN, and packet sniffing tools Intermediate knowledge of ActiveSync, LDAP, DHCP, DNS, NFS, SMB, CIFS, iSCSI, HTTPS, SSL. Knowledge in system and network architecture, design, configuration, disaster recovery, business continuity, storage management, and performance monitoring Able to interpret the operational requirements of end users, project managers, and other stakeholders, with understanding of ITIL principles Ability to write concise and accurate technical documentation for internal IT use and end-user training purposes, including detailed network and system diagrams, and maintain accurate records of system configurations and inventory Effective time management, task prioritization, and ability to consistently meet deadlines Able to work independently or as part of a team.
